Mainz 05: implementing joint social projects
We should be doing everything we can to make the world a better place. (Niko Bungert, 1. FSV Mainz 05)

Niko Bungert: “We’re involved in many different projects, including the ‘Mainz 05 hilft’ organisation’s projects for people in need, various social projects for people of all ages, and our ‘Mission Klimaverteidiger’ climate projects”.
Your window to a better world.
“It’s important to take on social responsibility, to get involved in community projects and never to forget people who live in less fortunate circumstances. I’m proud about Mainz 05’s involvement in social projects helping people of all ages and from all walks of life with our partner, the foundation “Kömmerling Better World Stiftung”. The ‘Mainz 05 hilft e. V.’ charity organisation also provides fast and unbureaucratic help to people in Mainz and the surrounding area, many of them marginalised individuals. It’s great that Mainz 05 and the foundation “Kömmerling Better World Stiftung” share the same attitudes and values, such as fair play, community involvement and sustainability, and we appreciate the fact that the foundation provides funding, donations in kind and organises many activities to support Mainz 05‘s social projects. We additionally also take advantage of our fame as a Bundesliga club to do good works. It’s fantastic to see Mainz 05 and the foundation “Kömmerling Better World Stiftung” working hand in hand as partners in the field of CSR.” – Niko Bungert, Mainz 05 football club

Christina Mayer: “We became the first climate-neutral Bundesliga club in 2010. It’s our motivation to become even better.”
German Football Association Integration Award: an honour and an incentive.
“Everyone at Mainz 05 is proud to have received so many awards for our wide-ranging community support efforts and social projects. For example, in 2013 we received the German Football Association’s (DFB) Integration Award for Mainz 05’s work in social projects promoting the integration of people with a migrant background and socially disadvantaged individuals. This DFB award paid tribute to the 05 KidsClub‘s integrative projects for children and young adults, ‘05 Youngsters’, ‘05 Classroom’, the ‘05 Classics’ project for senior citizens and our non-profit organisation Mainz 05 hilft e. V. for its work to promote intercultural and social education across all age groups. The award is an incentive for us to continue our project work, and it proves that we’ve been able to make a genuine difference. We’re looking forward to stepping up our many social activities, especially with our partner, the foundation Kömmerling Better World Stiftung, in the future.” – Christina Mayer, CSR, 1. FSV Mainz 05
